Those who always find blame in heartbreak.
Wednesday, 14 October 2015
It isn’t your fault.
I will tell you until your ears are tattooed with the calm of my voice
and your mind envelops the soundness of this belief.

It isn’t your fault.
For those who blame themselves after every shattered heart,
you need to know there is no reason behind it,
there is no universal retribution at hand.

Sometimes incompatibility is a conclusion we have to accept,
and there is nothing more to it than the fact that some
hearts must break.
Stop looking into your chest like it’s a fortune cookie,
if it is broken, there is not going to be an oracle to tell you why,
there is not going to be a note left behind detailing all the
things you have ever done wrong.

It’s true, none of us are perfect,
and yes, there is so much one can improve on,
but that is no reason to tear yourself to pieces,
sometimes we lose the ones we love because
it is better to heal with a broken heart than
to struggle in a broken future.
So understand this.
It isn’t your fault.
And even when you think it is,
even when you think it’s because you
never remembered to call back or
always got a little too high or
could never commit to someone who was in love,
know that you are who you are
and that you’re doing the best you can,
and with everything that happens
in the midst of heartbreak,
it is too difficult to find
the right person to blame.
